Gokyo Trek

The Khumbu (Everest massif) is an almost infinite playground, but one of its most beautiful jewels remains the Gokyo Lake with its emerald waters. This sublime spot, accessible via the Renjo La Pass (5345m) or up the Gokyo valley, allows you to climb the Gokyo Ri (5360m) for an unforgettable panorama of the entire valley and the surrounding 8000m peaks.

Directions from Kopra

Day 1

Pick-up from Kathmandu International Airport and transfer to hotel. Visit to the tourist and commercial district of Thamel. First immersion in the city's many gems.

Day 2

Free day to visit Kathmandu and its valley. Final preparations for the trek.

Day 3

Kathmandu-Lukla transfer by plane (30 minutes) then trek to Phakding.2610m (3 to 4h walk)

Day of acclimatization around Namche Bazar with a climb to Everest View point

Day 6

Namche Bazar-Tengboche.3860m

Dole-Macchermo.4470m

Macchermo-Gokyo.4790m

Day 9

Ascent of Gokyo Ri (5360m) with views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and all the other magnificent peaks in the massif.
Ascent to the 5^th Gokyo lake at 5000m and return to the lodge near the lake.

Day 10

Gokyo-Dole.4200m
(5 to 6 hours walking)

Day 11

Dole-Khumjung.3780m (4 to 5h walk). Visit to the Khumjung school and hospital in Khunde, founded by Edmund Hillary.

Day 12

Kumjung-Phakding.2610m (5-6h walk)

Day 13

Phakding-Lukla.2840m (3 to 4h walking)

Day 14

Transfer from Lukla to Kathmandu by plane (30 minutes), then visit and stroll around Kathmandu to discover its temples and squares from another era.

Day 15

Transfer to the airport and departure.
